On 11 December 2019, Khon Kaen Sugar Industry PCL and Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum on Cooperation for scientific promotion and development of bio-industry and bio-fuel at the Institute, located at Tambon Kong Ha, Klong Luang District, Pathumthani.
The attendees included Mr. Chamroon Chinthammit, CEO of Khon Kaen Sugar Industry PCL, Mr. Pornsin Taemsirichair-SVP and Mrs. Chutima Eiamchotechavalit, Governor of TISTR.
The objective of this cooperation was to create awareness and to promote research in science, technology and innovation by sharing the resources including equipment, tools and personnel to develop the output of energy, environment and food from raw materials and waste materials from manufacturing process of sugar and ethanol. This initiative would be a model for sugar mills to optimize the resources by producing value-added goods and using waste materials, e.g., carbon dioxide to produce bio-chemicals and bio-fuel. The project would benefit the stability and strength of joint research to develop products that are environment-friendly on the basis of economic, social and environmental advantage.
